Camp Director

Scott Mathena has been coaching football for 14 years. Scott started his career as an assistant coach at Frostburg State University. At that time, the football program made their first NCAA Playoff appearance and win. During his tenure, coaching at Hereford High School he assisted the football program in being recognized as one of the top high school football programs in the state by earning 2 Regional Finalists appearances, 4 Baltimore County Championships and 2 State Championships. Mathena’s time at Towson contributed to the football program’s first ever state Playoff appearance. Scott has recently been named Head Football Coach at Towson High School for the 2009 season. Additionally, Scott has been organizing youth football camps since 2003.

Mission Statement

It is the intent of the TRC Football Skills Camp to improve the technique and skill level of all participants. Through non-contact drills and instruction provided by an outstanding coaching staff, each camper will leave camp with a better understanding of the game of football. Detailed position instruction will be given to each participant to ensure a positive experience whether they play at the recreational or high school level. The team concept will concentrate on the Wing-T offense and the 5-2 defense.
