2010 Winter Indoor Soccer
COMING IN JANUARY 2010: GIRLS INDOOR SOCCER!!!!
Breaking News: Baltimore County Parks and Rec has bought the Perring Athletic Center in Parkville and turned it into the Northeast Regional Recreation Center, aka NERRC. On November 9th, NERRC announced the formation of a winter indoor soccer league for the area rec councils.
COACHES: We will need two coaches and assistants for every age group.

Indoor Soccer Details:
- Season: Starts the first week of January with scrimmages / practice for one week. The second week of January, we will start the games. 8 game schedule-- 1X/week. No practices after first week.

Games: Games will be scheduled throughout the week and on weekends. The schedule has not been set, though younger age groups are expected to play earlier in the evening, older groups later.

Uniform: Provided-- simple t-shirt for uniforms.

Leagues: Separate girls and boys age groups: U10, U12, U14, and U16. If there is sufficient interest, there may be a U8 league. Towson rec teams will play other rec councils. Teams will be formed based on registrations through League Lineup, similar to the rec soccer program. This is recreational soccer only. Travel players are welcome to play but intact travel teams are not allowed.

Teams: 7 v 7 teams, which means a maximum of 15 players per team. 13 is ideal if everyone shows up every game. There will be one-two teams per age level, depending on interest.

Costs: Will be in the range of $45-50/player.

2009 FALL SOCCER --- Registration for the Fall Season is now closed.
Registration for the Fall 2009 Season opened on March 1, 2009. Recreational teams will be sponsored at the
Registration is first come, first served, with a deadline of June 1, 2009. On June 1, 2009, the registration fee increases an additional $20. Girls registered after June 1 may also be waitlisted. Please be advised: All rec age levels were full last year and some late registrants were therefore unable to participate. Rec teams begin practices in late August, with games running mid-September through early November. U8 and U10 Rec teams play teams within other teams within the Towson Recreation Council. U12 Rec plays both Towson and Towsontowne Recreation Council teams. U15 Rec plays interleague games with Towsontown and Loch Raven Rec Councils.

Selective "Travel" teams will be sponsored at each age level from U8 through U15. Travel tryouts will be held during the first week of June, with practices starting shortly thereafter. Travel teams practice 1-2 times/week in the summer and 2X/week August--November, play other league "travel" teams, and participate in at least 2 regional tournaments.

Soccer is an all weather sport. Light rain and drizzle are no reason to cancel a practice or game. Iif the fields are soaked from longer periods of rain overnight they may not be playable and there may the be cancellations. If there is thunder or lightning present, no games or practices wil be held until both have subsided for at least 30 minutes. The regional parks , such as Meadowood, have their own set of rules which we have no control over.
