PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Welcome to the Towson Triumph Youth Football Page for 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U and 14U! The Towson Triumph football program was created to inspire youth, bringing them closer together through the means of common interest in sportsmanship and fair play, imparting the game elements of safety and intelligent supervision, and keeping the welfare of the player first and foremost. With our experienced coaches, we're committed to helping your child succeed both on and off the field. We participate in the Upper Chesapeake Youth Football League (UCYFL), which allows us to travel and compete against teams in Baltimore County, Harford County and Cecil County. Our home fields are located centrally at Towson High School and Meadowood Regional Park.

Our Purpose:

To acquaint the players with the fundamentals of game rules, running, kicking, blocking and tackling.
To teach (through the game) sportsmanship, love of the game and discipline.
To promote safe play throughout all divisions of play.

Our Objective:

To provide a wholesome, enjoyable experience while teaching the basic fundamentals of the game, teamwork, good sportsmanship, discipline and response to leadership.
To encourage the players to maintain satisfactory grades in school and to emphasize the importance of keeping a proper relationship and balance between scholastic and athletic endeavors.
To provide a satisfying, rewarding experience for coaches, sponsors and those persons administering the program through their relationships in teaching and working with youth.
To provide a well-organized and implemented program that is appreciated and favorably received by the parents of the community.

LEAGUES

A player’s football league age is determined by his/her age on August 1, 2025. All players are automatically placed in the youngest age division that their age will allow. If you would like for your child to play "up" in any age division, please email us at trctriumphfootball@gmail.com to discuss.

8U - Born between 08/01/2016 and 07/31/2017

9U - Born between 08/01/2015 and 07/31/2016

10U - Born between 08/01/2014 and 07/31/2015

11U - Born between 08/01/2013 and 07/31/2014

12U - Born between 08/01/2012 and 07/31/2013

14U - Born Between 08/01/2010 and 07/31/2012

FAQs

How much is registration?

The registration fee for the tackle football program (8U, 9U, 10U, 12U) is $200 per player.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, we do! At checkout, you can elect to pay in full or make partial payments for several months.

What if I want my player to “play up” an age level?

If you would like your child to play "up" in any age division, please email us at trctriumphfootball@gmail.com to discuss.

Can I request a specific jersey number for my player?

Jersey numbers for tackle football players are not guaranteed from one season to the next. We will attempt to hold jersey numbers for returning players for the first two registration dates who have partially paid or paid in full for registration. If the jersey number is important to you, register early.

When do we pick up player equipment?

Equipment will be distributed at a TBD location. Dates will be determined and forthcoming.

Why do NEW players need to be age-verified? What is the cutoff date?

Per UCFYL Rules, all players must be age-verified. Only official birth certificates or registered copies, Health Department Certificate, official passport, adoption certificate, or official military service identifications are to be accepted as verification of age for issuance of an UCYFL I.D. No other forms will be accepted.

In addition, the official cutoff date for an eligible player is August 1st. Players must turn their official league age no later than August 1st of the current season.

When does OFFICIAL practice start?

Official practices begin at the end of July and are held 4 days per week while school is still out. Summer practices will be held at a TBD location. We will move to a TBD location in late August/September for our official Fall practices.

How often does my child need to attend practice to play in a game?

All players must attend a minimum of 50% of the scheduled practices the week immediately preceding any regular season game.

When do GAMES start?

Games begin in late August, and they run for nine consecutive weeks. For those teams who qualify, Playoff Rounds are the first two weeks of November, culminating with a Championship Round in mid-November.

Where will our HOME and AWAY games be played?

Our home fields are located centrally at Towson High School and Meadowood Regional Park. Away games are held throughout Baltimore and Harford Counties.

What equipment do I need to purchase for my child?

All tackle football players must purchase cleats, a protective cup, a practice jersey, and practice pants.

What equipment does TRC loan to me for the season?

All tackle football players are provided with a helmet, shoulder pads, integrated game pants, a game jersey, and a mouthpiece. Please note that all of this equipment must be returned at the end of the season and in good condition.

Can my high school child play football for TRC?

No, high school students are not permitted to participate.

What is the weight chart?

The UCYFL Executive Board will publish a league weight chart each season that depicts the allowable weights for each tackle football age group and the appropriate classifications for each. The League weight chart will be published to the League's website and disseminated. Ages 9U thru 14U are classified as unlimited weight.

What are the football sizes for the age divisions?

Flag Football K-2, RR5T, Nike K or UA Pee Wee

8U Age Group K-2 or RR5T and Nike K, UA Pee Wee

9U Age Group K-2 or RR5T and Nike K, UA Pee Wee

10U Age Group TDJ, RR5Y, FX 500 JR or FX 150, Nike J, UA Junior

11U Age Group TDJ, RR5Y, FX 500 JR or FX 150, Nike J, UA Junior

12U Age Group TDY, RR51, FX 500 Y or FX 250, Nike Y, UA Youth

When should we expect to hear from our coach?

Teams are formed in early to mid-June. You should hear from your coach in June (possibly sooner).

We are on the wait list. When should we expect to hear whether or not we have a spot?

We will do our best to find ways to include players who are on the wait list. If you have not heard yet, please be patient.

Important Notes for Parents/Guardians Regarding Equipment Pick-Up:

Player(s) must be present for equipment pick-up to ensure a proper fit.

If you have not paid your registration fee in full, please do so before equipment pick up.

Important Notes for Parents/Guardians of NEW Players:

Parents/guardians must bring the player’s birth certificate, passport, or military ID. We can accept copies or records of birth. A photo will also be taken of the player at this time. Players without a valid photo and age verification will not be permitted to play.

All borrowed equipment must be returned at the end of the season.

Meadowood Regional Park

Address: 10650 Falls Road, Lutherville-Timonium, Maryland 21093 From the Baltimore Beltway (I-695) take exit 23B for Falls Road north, and immediately proceed to the left lane. Make a left at the first stoplight onto Falls Road south, and proceed to the park entrance just ahead on the right (marked by park sign).

Forge Park

From the north: Take York Rd southbound past Regester Ave to St. Pius X church, one block after Overbrook Road. Park in the lot behind the church. Limited additional parking is available two blocks further down York past the Giant on Schwartz Ave. Parking also available at the Giant. From city line: York Rd northbound to St. Pius X church, one block past Overbrook Road, on left. Park in the lot behind the church. Limited additional parking is available down Schwartz Ave, prior to the Giant. Parking also available at the Giant. Obey parking signs. Lots are monitored by police.

Chesterwood Park

I-695 E to exit 39 for Merritt Blvd toward Dundalk Keep left at the fork to continue toward Merritt Blvd and merge onto Merritt Blvd Turn left at Peninsula Expressway Turn right at Chesterwood Rd (If coming from the South side of the beltway, take the Pennisula Expressway exit Northbound, and the park will be on your left.)

Gray Manor

I-695 E to EXIT 39 MERRITT BLVD. towards DUNDALK. Turn LEFT onto GERMAN HILL RD. Turn RIGHT onto PLAINFIELD RD. Turn LEFT onto PARKWOOD RD. End at 7607 Parkwood Rd, Dundalk, MD 21222

Stemmers Run Middle School

Take I-695 E toward ESSEX. Merge onto MD-702 S/SOUTHEAST BLVD via exit number 36, on the left, toward ESSEX. Take the EASTERN BLVD EAST exit toward CHASE. Merge onto EASTERN BLVD/MD-150 E. Turn LEFT onto STEMMERS RUN RD. End at 201 STEMMERS RUN RD

Fallston Recreation Complex

From I-95 North: Take Route 152 (Exit 74) Towards North Belair Continue on 152 for Approximately 7.5 Miles. (1.2 Miles From the Intersection Of Carrs Mill Road) Sports Complex is on the right From Towson area: Best to Mapquest from address above as there are several routes depending on your starting point. The Sports Complex is located at 1809 Fallston Road which is between Baldwin Station Road and Harford Rd. About 45 minutes from Towson area. This is NOT the same as Fallston HS or MS which is nearby.

CODE OF CONDUCT

We expect our parents/spectators/coaches and players to comply with the TRC and BCRP codes of conduct and agree to the waiver and release in the registration form. These forms can also be found on the "Forms and Waiver" page of the TRC site. Failure to do so may result in ejection from a game, practice or the Towson Rec Council program, so please read the following documents carefully before registering for TRC programs.

All persons involved with the Towson Recreation Council must adhere to the following Code of Conduct. I understand that failure to adhere to the Code of Conduct will result in ejection from the program and possible ejection from all TRC programs.

I agree to abide by the rules, guidelines, and decisions of the program director, administrators, and coaches.
I will at all times show respect for the rules, opponents, officials, and teammates. If I disagree with an official or a coach, I will show respect by being silent. I will never argue with referee or coach. I will never ridicule or yell at players, coaches, or officials.
I will refrain from negative comments about coaches, players, or officials in my child’s presence.
I will respect the rights, dignity, and worth of every person regardless of their gender, sex, ability, cultural background, or religion.
Parents and players will engage in “No Direction Cheering”* by exercising self control on the sidelines and limiting comments during the game to encouragement for players (from both teams).
Parents will send their players to practices and games with the required equipment, and on time. Players and parents will notify coaches if they must miss a practice or a game.
Parents will not intentionally misrepresent a player’s age or ability at any time.
I will report to the coach all injuries, special medical conditions (such as asthma) or extenuating circumstances (such as lack of sleep or family crisis) that may affect the player.
I will be a positive role model for all players, parents, and coaches.

How to Support the Triumph!

A successful football program requires dedicated volunteers for all aspects of the program. While the program has no shortage of volunteers, a football program is also dependent on having adequate funds to service the program. Some of the needs are necessary to maintain the program, others create opportunities for growth. Towson Triumph football seeks to fund these activities:

1. Purchase a portable, electronic LED scoreboard ($4,000)

2. Market spirit wear, such as shirts, hats, and hoodies, to promote visibility of the program ($1,500)

3. Upgrade and replace old equipment ($2,000)

4. Fund end-of-season events to recognize the players ($2,200)

Recognition Opportunities

All sponsors will be recognized on the Triumph Football program page of www.towsonrec.com. The website receives over 10,000 hits per season from both TRC participants as well as participants from other programs.
Sponsors are invited to provide a banner to be displayed at Meadowood Regional Park during each of our home games. Each game provides visibility not only to the 600+ football fans, but to visitors to the park as well. Additionally, we can professionally design your banner at no additional cost. Banners are available in four sizes.
Sponsors may be recognized in other ways as well—from concession sign menu boards, to player programs, to team water bottles—please let us know how you would like to be acknowledged!
